Planting, care, and harvest expectations
These seeds are suited for warm, sunny spaces and can be trained to climb a trellis or fence, maximizing small spaces while keeping fruits easily within reach. Cucamelons produce tiny, grape-sized fruits that resemble miniature watermelons with a crisp cucumber bite and a subtle citrus flair. Lemon cucumbers form bright yellow-green fruit that stays mild and refreshing, with less bitterness than some green varieties. For both, the quick maturation period typically lands in the 65–75 day range, depending on warmth and care.
Growing tips and practical uses
- Place in full sun and well-drained soil; provide support for vines to climb.
- Harvest cucamelons when they’re grape-sized for a crisp, tangy bite; pick lemon cucumbers when firm and yellow.
- Suggestions: slice for salads, snack fresh, or use in quick pickles for a tangy crunch.
- Store seeds in a cool, dry place to maximize germination potential for next season.
